On this ocassion, The Grand Prince and Grand Duke Jorge Rurikovich and The Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna Kubareva Rurikovich of The Sovereign Royal and Imperial House of Rurikovich (Rurik Dynasty) took part of the Russian Day of The Popular Unity under The Russian Government, leaded in Spain by The Russian Amabassador Yuri Korchagin, who congratulated the guests and recalled the history of the party, stressing its importance for the consolidation of the Russian people and the strengthening of Russian statehood.
The festive program of the evening opened the concert "The Embassy of the Master" made under the entire House of Music in St. Petersburg and the Russian Federal Agency "Rossotrudnichestvo" project. Tonight at the Concert Hall of the Embassy intervened and talented young Russian musicians, winners of prestigious music competitions Anna Odintsova (piano) and Elina Faskhitdinova (cello), showing magnificently public emotion and virtuosity inherent national art school.
In Moscow, The Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the Day of Popular Unity is necessary for the country. "It's very important for any country, any people and especially for such a complex and diverse country like Russia, with its multi-ethnic composition and multireligious- stop once a year to remember what happened and when we, remember what is related to our victories, triumphs, as the defeats and tragedies, "he said.
As historical point, shall be know that on November 4 Russia celebrates the Day of People's Unity, a party established in 2005 to commemorate the acts of resistance in 1612 against the Polish-Lithuanian occupation. By then, a popular uprising led by Prince Dmitry Pozharsky and the merchant Kuzma Minin, expelled the Polish invaders from Moscow. This fact was ended an era of popular revolts caused by a serious, political, social and economic situation of religious discord.
Regarding The Day Of Russian Popular Unity, this day were festivities since 1649. At that time the Czar Alexis I decreed celebrate on November 4 Day of the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan, who was the protector of the militia organized in the year 1612 in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod by the military-head Voyevoda trader Dmitry Pozharsky and Kuzma Minin. Moscow militia marched to free the Russian capital of Polish invaders.
The history of the festival dates back to 1584, when after the death of Ivan IV, the Terrible, the Russian state was in ruins. With the end of the ruling dynasty of the descendants of Rurik, some self-proclaimed successors to the throne, supported by the neighboring countries of Poland and Lithuania took power.
